Vodafone, the leading global communications provider, is teaming up with Mango, a high street fashion retailer, to provide digital fitting rooms worldwide.

In these new digital fitting room, customers will be able to view different sizes and colours onscreen, as well as accessories and alternative outfits. In order to gain access to these new features, the only thing they need to do to is to scan the barcode.

The shop staff will receive the customer requests in real-time on digital watches, and the customers will also be able to use their smart devices to save the details of any outfit they like. There will be an option of contacting the staff directly from the mirror.

This digital transformation of their business will be implemented in Mango stores from Barcelona all the way to New York, and it’s meant to combine the elements of the online and offline shopping experiences.

In the US, another provider is rolling out technology to enhance the shopping experience of its customers. Namely, Neiman Marcus, a designer clothing giant, is implementing digital mirrors that allow shoppers to try on a new set of clothes without physically changing their outfit.

In related news, we’ve seen several hair salons using Samsung digital mirror technology. With its help, customers can preview different styles of haircuts and colours prior to making their final decisions, and it’s all made possible thanks to OLED displays, 3D RealSense cameras, and augmented reality.
