As of the 13th of November 2018, Microsoft is rolling out Windows Server 2019. The updated version promises to include a range of fixes for problems that were discovered in the previous one, including the ones regarding data loss.

If you want to give it a shot, you can download the latest version from Volume Licensing Service Center (VLSC).

The release also means that customers who have been waiting to deploy Exchange Server 2019 (having Windows Server 2019 is a prerequisite), can now get it without problems.

For those who are concerned about the magnitude of the original data loss issue the previous version had, Microsoft assures us that only one-hundredth of one percent of users were affected by it. Specifically, the issue affected the users who had previously enabled Known Folder Redirection, but also the ones using Auto Save features on OneDrive.

Based on the latest blog posts published on Microsoft’s official blog, the company plans to make changes in the way Windows Server and Microsoft Windows updates are carried out. Without going into too much detail, the changes will be designed to allow for a quick response whenever an issue pops up.

According to the company officials, with the help of all the modern tools that are available today, they want to focus on quality-focused innovation across several different fields:

– Validation

– Product design

– Delivery

– Development

Additional details regarding the new direction of updates will be published in the forthcoming blog posts, so be sure to follow Microsoft’s blog.
