GDPR COMES INTO FORCE ON 25 MAY 2018
This is Step 3 in our series of posts to help you get ready for GDPR. Missed Steps 1 & 2? You can view them here.
Time is short now, we are already into March and you must be ready by 25 May. If you follow our practical steps, you should be getting into good shape but, if you need someone by your side, we are here to help.
STEP 3- COMMUNICATING PRIVACY INFORMATION
Clear and concise communication of your data privacy measure is fundamental to the GDPR.
- You should review your current privacy notices and put a plan in place for making any necessary changes in time for GDPR implementation.
- Under the GDPR there are additional things you will have to tell people when collecting their data. For example, you will need to explain your lawful basis for processing the data, your data retention periods and that individuals have a right to complain to the ICO if they think there is a problem with the way you are handling their data.
- The GDPR requires the information to be provided in concise, easy to understand and clear language.
