According to Vodafone, 5G will become available in 19 cities in the UK by the end of the year.
Being a leading provider, the carrier activated the first 5G network in Greater Manchester in October. Since then, the following regions have received extended coverage:
At the time of writing this, Vodafone is already working on extending the coverage even further. Soon, 5G network in UK will have an even wider coverage, including:
Compared to 4G, 5G promises to increase the speed by a factor of 10. Apart from that, the connections established through it will be more stable. Moreover, there will be more bandwidth that other technologies can take advantage of. To name a couple of examples:
– Virtual reality
– Autonomous vehicles
The world is slowly embracing the new possibilities as well. In fact, the first 5G-compatible phones were revealed at Samsung’s Unpacked event in San Francisco and Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
Vodafone is working hard to make the 5G network a widely-accessible reality. Apart from the seven cities already announced this year, the following 12 are set to join the list:
