There’s a new set of IoT asset tracking solutions unveiled by Telstra. With their help, small businesses, enterprises, as well as consumers will have an easy time tracking their assets.
Telstra Locator, as the new service was named, will launch later this year as a subscription-based service. By marking their valuables with a Bluetooth tag, users will be able to use the Telstra Locator App to track them down if they get misplaced or lost.
The LTE device will also allow you to define a zone; as soon as the tagged items leave it, you’ll receive an alert. In fact, you’ll be able to set up multiple such zones, which comes in handy for tracking valuables at work and home separately, for example.
Telstra’s Track and Monitor, the asset tracking solution for businesses, is scheduled to launch in October this year. The exact pricing details are still unknown, but Telstra has hinted that it’s going to be a low-cost solution capable of tracking a large volume of assets.
This device is designed for business owners to be able to fit it in between the corrugation of shipping containers. It has a built-in solar-powered battery that can last up to 4 months without being exposed to sunlight.
Many sectors will be able to take advantage of this solution, including:
The Bluetooth locator community will be launching in early September, and with its help, customers will be able to locate misplaced smart devices across various operating systems.
