Vouchers are available in Harrogate to companies wishing to take advantage of faster business broadband.
The vouchers, which are available to small businesses, charities, sole traders and social enterprises to install faster business broadband, are worth up to £3,000. The scheme is funded through the Super Connected Cities initiative launched by the government. The upfront costs for the installation of faster broadband can be too high for some companies, but the voucher takes away this worry.
Faster business broadband is essential for companies that want to work more efficiently and change the way in which they do business. The voucher scheme is set to end in October; however, it will end sooner if all the funds are allocated and businesses are therefore being encouraged to apply as soon as possible.
The voucher scheme started back in April and around 170 companies have already taken advantage of it. The cost of installation is covered and the minimum amount that can be applied for is £100. Larger grants than £3,000 can be applied for if companies make a group application, such as if they are in a shared building.
Companies can check whether they are eligible by going to the official connection voucher website; alternatively, they can attend the Faster Better Business event on 3rd September at the Harrogate International Centre and sign up there if they are interested.
The leader of Harrogate Borough Council, Richard Cooper, said this is a great opportunity for companies to make the most of digital technology.
