Amazon is working to get Alexa into the workplace

With the launch of Alexa for Business Blueprints, Amazon is making another push into the modern workspace. What does Amazon’s latest product have in store for us this time?

Amazon announced Alexa for Business last year and the company have since been adding more features via AWS, thus paving the way for the next step in the digital transformation sphere. In April of 2018, anyone with the desire to create was granted permission to make Alexa Skills and publish them to the marketplace.

The company’s latest breakthrough is aimed at enterprises striving to create voice-activated productivity that’s specific to their company. This will be allowed via private business skills.

Specifically, the Business Q&A Blueprint allows you to make a custom set of questions and answers for common workplace inquiries.

Examples include:

– “What’s the guest Wi-Fi password”?

– “What’s the number of the IT department”?

This is bound to come in handy for newly-initiated employees who are still trying to get the hang of things. By using it, there will be no need for a human individual to waste time explaining what’s the right way to submit an expense report, just to name an example.

Amazon promises that the privacy aspect is a very important element of business Blueprints. In the company announcement, it was revealed that the expansion of Skill Blueprints builds upon the templates already available and introduces the power of voice and AI technology to the workplace.
