The leading telcos are launching a global cybersecurity alliance. This is going to be the first-ever global telco cybersecurity partnership, and Singtel, SoftBank, Etisalat, and Telefonica are the names behind it.
While various cybersecurity threats may be on the rise, The Global Telco Security Alliance is here to come up with new solutions to combat them. This is going to be one of the largest partnerships out there, with 1.2 billion customers across 50 different countries.
This partnership has been launched in response to increasing concerns surrounding cybersecurity, and especially ransom and malware attacks. If your organisation is in need of new cybersecurity solutions or reliable services, the Alliance is willing to lend its helping hand, drawing on their combined capabilities and resources. Ultimately, the goal is to lower the costs for their customers. The Alliance aims to achieve this goal through operational synergies and smart, economical moves.
The founding members have many security centres under their command, 22 in total. Across all of them, more than 6,000 cybersecurity professionals are employed.
The Alliance has stated that cybersecurity portfolio enhancements are planned, and there’s a chance of developing several new technologies, including:
– Advanced cybersecurity for the Internet of Things (IoT)
– Predictive analytics taking advantage of machine learning technology
The Alliance is considering developing a joint roadmap, exploring the evolution of its cybersecurity portfolios, as well as exploring its joint investments in security products. The products are not the only thing on the list; platforms, R&D, start-ups, and services are sure to follow.
