Chris Papa - Managing Director

Chris took a position on the main board of a newly formed communications company in the early 1980s: it grew to be a £45 million business in less than 10 years. Chris oversaw the delivery of technical customer service and was MD of three subsidiary companies in the telecoms and data arenas.

During this time, Chris was appointed worldwide IBM dealer representative for the UK and achieved BSI accredited maintainer status for the telecoms business: the first outside of BT in the UK.

Chris went on to be the force behind Qubic Group plc which was founded in 1994 and was conceived as the first specialist integrator of voice and data. At the forefront of the emerging technology, Qubic soon became recognised for its ability to deliver complex solutions that offered significant business benefits above the traditional approaches.

Joe Papa - Technical Director

Joe served an engineering apprenticeship with Rolls Royce, where he developed his ongoing desire for excellence and for not compromising on quality. Joe has been involved in networking technology since the early 1990s. A founding director of Qubic in 1994, Joe has taken the technical lead in realising the company’s vision to integrate voice and data communications breaking down the traditional barriers to create powerful business solutions.

Joe takes the lead in designing customer solutions drawing on his vast experience and holds numerous, high level, technical qualifications from Microsoft, Cisco, Mitel and HP, as well as several key network providers.

John French - Director

John’s role combines major account management with partner liaison and the structure of our product and services portfolio. John has a wealth of experience, joining Qubic Group in 1997 after some 20 years in the networking and communications industry, during which time he established his own communications company.

John holds qualifications from many of the industry’s leading manufacturers including; Cisco, HP, Mitel and Avaya. He uses his commercial and industry experience to deign customer solutions that are technically sound and deliver tangible business benefits. John also provides consultancy services to major organisations and contributions to industry publications.

Vic Tailor - Service and Support Manager

Vic has an engineering background having worked in the field commissioning and repairing voice and data installations before moving into service management, initially on a local level, rising to national installations manager for a large corporation, where he was responsible for setting up an infrastructure for the implementation of complex, network projects. Vic joined Qubic in 2001 to head up the expanding engineering division.

Vic oversees procurement, project management and installations as well as field based and telephone hot-line technical service. Vic is certified by ITIL and PRINCE 2 as well as holding a series of manufacturer qualifications from many of Qubic’s networking partners.

Lourda Russell - Operations Manager

Lourda has a strong background in delivering customer service having spent 15 years in retail and retail management. Lourda moved in to the administrative arena, spending three years as a Magisterial Officer before taking on the challenge of Office Manager and PA to the MD of an overseas company. She joined Qubic in 2000 in a similar position.

Lourda’s role as Operations Manager draws on her wide experience of business management with responsibilities that include; the smooth running of the office, monitoring and maintaining quality control systems, overseeing HR matters and internal communications as well as being PA to the directors. Lourda has been instrumental in enabling Qubic to achieve its high level of BSI/ISO accreditation and maintaining the high standards that this entails.

Nigel Welch - Company Secretary

Nigel joined Qubic in 1999, having spent almost 25 years in the insurance industry. Nigel has extensive experience in risk management, underwriting and claims, and served as a PLC board director of a major, London based international broker, whilst being the MD of a number of their subsidiaries.

Nigel brings a broad range of skills and technical corporate knowledge to Qubic Group and has a wide range of industry accreditations in addition to expertise in the development and management of billing platforms.

Sothi Maheswaran - Financial Controller

Sothi joined Qubic Group Plc in 2008. He has more than 25 years experience in financial management for small and medium size businesses at board level. Sothi has extensive knowledge and experience at operational and strategic level in both service and commercial business environments.

Sothi has an Advanced Diploma in Management Accounting with the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants and his career history includes Financial Director for Jakar international Ltd, a wholesale distribution company and management accountant for Canning International, a major training and consultancy firm.
